Mary Ann (Betty) Smith

Mary Ann (Beatty) Smith of Iron Mountain, 76, loving sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt entered into eternal peace with our Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 after battling many illnesses throughout the years.
Born July 19, 1939 to Russell and Clara Beatty, she married high school sweetheart Jaren E. Smith to whom she was devoted for 54-years.
She was a loving matriarch to 5 children; Lori, Carrie, Craig, Brian and Kevin and 14 grandchildren; Stephanie, DJ, Christopher, Corey, Jacob, Ryan, Jeremy, Erin, Sean, Landon, Margaux, Regan, Keaton, and Harrison. She was always giving of herself with a loving and generous heart.
The greatest treasures in her life were her kids, brothers, and dear childhood friends from Iron Mountain. As an avid reader, especially of cookbooks, she was happiest talking about cuisine as she lavished meals on family and friends alike.
Sadly, her eldest daughter Lori and husband Jaren both recently passed-away of cancer in 2015.
The surviving Smith family and friends will be celebrating the lives of Mary, Jaren, and Lori at a memorial service in the Iron Mountain area this June.
