Mary Marine Thetford

Mary Marine Thetford, 92, a widow, daughter, mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother died Friday,

October 18 at her second home at Parkwood in Bedford, Texas. Mary and her husband Donald were

married almost 63 years before he went to his heavenly home in 2016.

Mary was a devout Christian raised in the Church of God, Graham, Texas, where her beloved brother

and sister-in-law, Gale and Virginia Barnett would serve in ministry all their lives. Mary taught Vacation

Bible School, Girls Auxiliary, Fifth and Sixth grade and adult Sunday School classes, Bible Study

Fellowship and ESL consistently during their years in Houston at Sharpstown Baptist Church and

Westbury Baptist Church. Mary loved to sew, garden, cook and read. She enjoyed birds and trees,

museums and history. Mary cared for her mother, Iva Davis Barnett and her sister, Jean Barnett, in her

home for seven years. Caregiving was her specialty and she touched more lives than one could count.

Her big smile is now gracing the heavens in her eternal home.

Today you will meet Mary’s descendants and witness their love for Christ. Join in celebrating the life of

the truly gifted and devoted follower of Christ through hymns, scripture, personalized readings, prayers

and songs of her journey.

She was greatly loved, greatly admired, and will be greatly missed.
