Matthew Carter Stacy, age 49, born December 17, 1973 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth Texas and entered the arms of Jesus on August 23, 2023 at his home in Aledo Texas.

Raised primarily in Keller Texas when the population sign read @3500! Matt's childhood was spent bike riding and exploring with neighborhood friends around Bear Creek hill and park, swimming in the pool and of course yard work. When the family moved to Colorado in January 1979, Matt learned to ski, sled, tube and to ride horses. One horse in particular, a very aggressive Shetland Pony, Matt affectionately named Lightning. Those were very happy days for Matt as we lived in the foothills of the Rockies; cool weather, beautiful blue skies and seemingly endless trail rides on Lightning, interrupted only by the setting of the sun, which was the signal to head back home.

In August of 1980 the family moved back to Keller. Here Matt would spend the duration of his childhood, teen years and into adulthood. He ultimately spent the last decade of his life living next door to his childhood home. Back in Keller, Matt learned to play baseball at the old Keller KYA fields, he played football at Liberty Christian in Denton (now Argyle) and much to the chagrin of his parents, he became a proficient motorcycle rider.

The vast majority of Matt's adult life was spent in the sales department of the family's flooring company. He was the first salesman to have a 1 million dollar year, and one of only three salesmen to break 2 million dollars a year!

Matt's favorite pastimes were fishing, boating, motorcycle riding, cooking and spending time with friends and family. He was married twice; first to Teresa Cherry of Malakoff Texas in 1995. This union yielded Kaitlin Breann Parker of Granbury Texas and Matthew Kaleb Stacy of Atlanta Georgia. His second marriage was in 2017 to Samantha Stacy and gained her son Tristan Bryce Martinez of Houston Texas.

2022 was a banner year in Matt's life. In May he graduated from Kenneth Copeland Bible College. Nothing this world has to offer is more impactful than the transformational word of God! 2023 saw Matt make two mission trips to Africa. One to Nigeria in January and one to Kenya in April. He was greatly impacted by the orphanages and the loving, optimistic spirit exuded by the children. Even though Matt was there to minister to them, those children wound up ministering to Matt; living in the most difficult of circumstances, an orphanage, in a third world impoverished country, he said "they have smiles that can light up the room". Smiles fueled by joy and peace that passes all understanding, originating from the Lord. The final months of Matt’s life was spent ministering to people via Facebook. He established quite a following and really enjoyed one on one ministry. However, the greatest joy of Matt's life was being a grandfather. We unanimously agree, not since the carefree days of childhood have any of us seen him so filled with joy and delight, as when he was holding one of his grandchildren.

Matt was many things to many people; family member, friend, salesman, neighbor, minister, mission companion and accountability partner. The greatest consistencies throughout his life were; love, patience, kindness, compassion and most of all generosity..... If Matt discovered you needed a pair of tennis shoes, he didn't buy the Walmart specials... It was Air-Jordan's all the way!

Additionally, you would be very hard-pressed to find anybody, that would tell you, they ever heard him say a disparaging word about anyone... a very, very rare and admirable quality! We would all do well to follow that example. He was loved and will be greatly missed!

Matt is survived by his loving parents, Ann & John Stacy; brother, John Stacy and his wife, Brandee Stacy; sister, Rachel Wiebe and her husband, Shain Wiebe; son, Matthew Stacy and his wife, Tricia Stacy; daughter, Kaitlin Parker and her husband, Jakoby Parker; Matthew and Kaitlin's mother, Teresa Stacy; son, Tristan Martinez and his mother, Samantha Stacy; his beloved grandchildren, Harper, Lyric, Mila, Alana and Owen and many other family members and friends.
