Mattie Sue Paxton

Mattie Sue Paxton, 80, passed away June 18, 2022, at Arbrook Plaza Nursing Home in Arlington, Texas. Sue was born November 11, 1941, in Morrilton, Arkansas to Arthur Raymond and Loweda Rankin Harrelson.
Sue grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and Arlington, Texas. She graduated from Arlington High in 1959. After high school, she became a RN and worked in the medical field for over 50 years. She eventually began teaching nursing at TCCC and retired from there. She was actively involved in a prayer group and a Bible Study group. She was also part of “the Birthday Girls,” a group of women who get together to celebrate each member’s birthday.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Loweda Harrelson; brother, James Barton; and husband, Jack Paxton.
Sue is survived by her sons, John and Doyle; daughter, Loweda; brothers, Arthur Ray, Rankin Dee, and Jay; sisters, Mary and Debbie; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, 518 SW Johnson Ave., in Burleson. There will be a graveside service for family and friends in Robertstown Cemetery, Arkansas scheduled later.
