Maxine Smart Kates

Maxine Smart Kates of North Richland Hills, TX passed away on November 8, 2019 at home. She will always be remembered as a loving, and devoted mother and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on August 28, 1929 in Jacksonport, AR to Dee W. Smart And Roberta Smart. She worked and then owned a Whataburger in Victoria, TX in her younger life. She sold and was a great homemaker. Maxine is with her heavenly father saved by grace. Maxine is survived by her daughters Sue Kerr and husband Kenith, and Martha Williams; son Jimmie Sneed; Sister Billie Fletcher of Harrison, AR; and step-son George Kates Jr.; grandsons Dusty Thompson and wife Kori, Rusty Thompson and wife Lori, Johnnie Williams, Hunter Sneed, Garrett Sneed and Amber Hassel of Midland, TX; and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, son, first husband of 20 years and second husband of 30 years.

A graveside service will be held on November 18 at 1pm at Smithfield cemetery.
