Mayme "Doris" Steward, age 93, was born March 23, 1930 in Milnesand, New Mexico near Bluit, New Mexico. She was born to James Harvey Bullock and Helen Bullock.
Doris attended Haltom High School in Haltom City, Texas and Dora High School in Dora, New Mexico. She was a long-time member of Center Point Church in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Doris retired from her long-time career as telephone and switchboard operator at professional businesses in the Fort Worth Metroplex.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, music and singing and was a big animal lover.
Doris is survived by her son, Terry L. Steward and his wife, Barbara of Burleson; son, James R. Steward of Azle; daughter, Lisa Blackmon and her husband, Danny of North Richland Hills; daughter, D'Anna Duty and her husband, Tommy of Watauga; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, James Wilburn Steward in 1986; her father, James Harvey Bullock in 1947; mother, Helen Loise Bullock in 1987; brother, Bill Bullock in 1979; sister, Jaylene O'Hara in 2017; brother, Wayne Bullock in 2017 and sister, June Crawford in 2019.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris' memory to Susan G. Komen or ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
