Melanie D. Yancey, 49, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14th, 2022.
Melanie was born February 28th, 1973 in Fort Worth, TX. She grew up in Bedford and lived a majority of her life in Dallas. In her final years she embraced living and working in Historic Downtown Carrollton.
She worked as a Controller and independent consultant in the construction industry. Melanie was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and served as the Chair of the Membership committee of the Historic Downtown Carrollton Association. With her loft overlooking the Square, she enjoyed her involvement in the activities and events of Downtown Carrollton. She was passionate about traveling and frequented the Florida beaches. She was rarely seen without her beloved corgi, Sancho, by her side.
Melanie valued her many friendships and seldom met a stranger. While she left this world too soon, she will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Brunson.
Melanie is survived by her daughter, Loren Jackson of Dallas; parents Carl and Kay McGee of Colleyville; sister Jenifer Mulholland and husband, Ray, of Southlake; nephew Aidan Rickelman of Southlake; and many other family and friends.
