Melba Janet “Jan” Conner was born on October 23, 1953 and departed this world on November 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and two sisters.
She is known for talking about the accomplishments of her friends to her family - and those of her family to her friends. She had a bright mind and her depth of her knowledge across a wide range of topics was impressive. You wouldn’t want to have rivaled her in a trivia contest.
Melba was a customer Service Representative for many years. She excelled at this because she had the gift of gab - a skill she was proud of. As stated by a relative, “She wasn’t reserved.” Melba never met a stranger and engaged people wherever she went. She persevered in the face of illness and adversity, always maintaining a positive belief for a better tomorrow. Her giving spirit was a gift to those she loved. With a fun-loving personality you could always count on her for a snazzy holiday sweater, sometimes even with flashing lights.
A faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Micheal’s Catholic Churches, she served in various roles and sang in the choir. Melba understood that God forgiving her was the model for her to use in forgiving others. Her hope and prayer for her family and friends is that each would both forgive and be forgiven. She believed that forgiveness was a key to a fulfilled life. Each of her friends and family contributed to her happiness and she passed knowing that she was accepted and loved just as she was.
