Mele Ana Maumalanga was born on February 22, 1953 in Ha'apai, Tonga to the late Sione Iufoni Langi and Nunia Tame’e Hausia. She passed away on November 29, 2022 in Independence, Missouri at the age of 69 years old.
She was a graduate of Aragon High School and Sam Mateo Community College. She married Siona Maumalanga on January 22, 1976. She lived in Tonga, San Mateo, California, Euless, Texas and Independence, Missouri. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed karaoke and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Parents Iufoni & Nunia Langi; her husband, Siona Maumalanga on July 7, 2014; and her siblings, Siblings: Sisifa Fanaika, Siale Langi, Viliami Langi, Sione Muhu Vailahi, Ehasi Latu, Siulolovao Alusa, Kasanita Langi and Inoke Langi.
She is survived by her children, Steven Maumalanga, Sosaia Maumalanga, Atelaite White, Jeffrey Maumalanga and Priscila Maumalanga; grandchildren, Raven Lavinia, Meleana Kiana, Jaden Faye, Sioana Maumalanga, Ammon Bergeson, Amanda Bergeson, Steven Jr Maumalanga, Toese White, Jessaia Maumalanga, Misiata Maumalanga, Siona White, Vincent White, Elaina (Naina), Manino Maumalanga, Olivia White, Selai Maumalanga, Ronnie Maumalanga, Jonah Maumalanga, Heneli White and Valora White; siblings, Mele Puloka, Atelaite Ofa Langi, Haupeakui Manuha, Tevita Langi, Tava Langi, Asilika Langi, Asita Langi; and many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 5312 Bransford Road, Colleyville, Texas 76034 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow the church services at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
