Sue Lawler was born on February 3, 1947, to Melvin and Mildred Burney. Sue was the youngest sibling of six brothers. Her mother passed away when Sue was just 6 years old, so her father and the six older brothers raised Sue.
At the age 14, Sue met the love of her life James Lawler and married him on December 22,1961. In 1965 they left San Angelo Texas to move to the Fort Worth area. Eventually settling in Grapevine Texas. Sue was a stay-at-home Wife/Mother. She lost her first child, Brenda when she was only six years old. As hard as it was, she raised two wonderful sons. In 1984, they bought and ran their first Pawn Shop in Haltom City. After twenty years and two stores later, she decided it was time to retire. She spent time with family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and playing slots at the casino.
In 2005, Sue tragically lost her second child, JR. Becoming a great-grandmother was also a special time for her. She loved being around all the kids and treating them with whatever they wanted.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James Lawler; son, Paul Lawler (Shawn) and daughter-in-law, Roberta Lawler; grandchildren, Adam, Coty, Jacob, Josh, Garrett and Chris; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Samantha, Savannah, JR. Landon, Daniel and Lexi.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mildred Burney, daughter, Brenda and son, JR.
