Michael Reginald Atchley

December 4, 1963 — July 5, 2022

Michael “Mike” Reginald Atchley was born on December 4th 1963 in Grapevine, Texas and passed away on July 5th 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas with family by his side. He was not in pain and he had no fear. Mike was a hardworking man, a husband, father figure, brother, uncle, mentor and friend to many. Mike was the valedictorian of Keller High School in 1982 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Physical Science from Texas Wesleyan University in 1986. His dream was to pursue medicine and in 1993, he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Over his career, Mike would help many people in very different capacities. For 20 years, he was a medical doctor known for his caring approach and comforting bedside manner. He then moved to a role in medical review working with law offices and regulatory agencies to consult and complete reports on medical negligence. Mike loved working with his hands, building things and being outdoors. He closed out his career working with North Dallas Drywall specializing in residential new construction.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Claude Atchley Jr (Sonny) and Shirley Ann Swift-Atchley of Keller. Mike is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judith Cene’ Atchley of Ponder, Texas; step son, Dustin Phipps of Newport News, Virginia; brother, Ernie C. Atchley III of Auburn, Washington; brother, John R. Atchley and wife Jill Atchley, and nephew Trystan Atchley of Highland Village, Texas as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
