Michael Joseph Gourlay

Michael Joseph Gourlay, 57, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Grapevine.
Memorial Services for Michael will be held at Lucas Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall Street, Grapevine on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow services.
Michael was born August 10, 1961 to Donald and Dorothy Gourlay in Gardena, CA. He was raised in the Catholic Church. He graduated from Cerritos High School and attended Cerritos Junior College, where he always told his children that he graduated from. He was a hard worker and after college he worked for Northern Telecommunications where he met his wife Patricia. After dating only 1 year, they were married on January 27, 1990 in Moreno Valley, California. After the birth of their children Mike moved his family to Grapevine, Texas in 1998 to work for GT Phone Company(now known as Verizon). Mike was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. Mike had many "loves" of is life; his electronics, music, movies, Nascar and above all his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and watching wildlife. Everyone considered him a friend. From the Starbucks that always knew his order of coffee and water to the McDonalds where he got his Big Macs, he was befriended by everyone. Mike enjoyed listening to music and when he wasn't listening to his classic heavy rock, he was listening to the favorites of his children. Michael attended the Grapevine Baptist Church with Patricia but always followed his Catholic beliefs.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Patricia; children, Kristina and son in law Kaleb, Amanda, Diana and Jessyca; Almost here 1st grandchild, Karson; brothers, David and his wife Cindy, Andy and his wife Teri and Scott; sister, Michele; parents, Donald and Dorothy, precious four legged friend, Bingo and many more family and friends.
