Michael R. Magee, 73, of Fort Worth, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2025 at home with his family. He was born on May 3, 1951, to Billie and Louise Magee in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Michael joined the United States Navy on September 15, 1972. He served until being honorably discharged on January 11, 1981. During his time in active duty he received many awards including National Defense Service Medal, Expert Pistol Marksman, and Good Conduct.
At the time of Michael's passing he was employed by H-E-B- Alliance where he worked in the Cooking Connection department. Michael loved working and enjoyed his coworkers and especially the customers that he was able to connect with.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 12, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. Burial with military honors will follow at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply loved his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sharon Magee; his daughters, Dawn Phillips, Michelle Hanson and husband Randy, Alena Davis and husband Shaun, and Jennifer Dean and husband Larry; and his son, Evan Magee. He is also survived by his mother, Louise Magee; his sisters, Kay Long and Gail Thompson; and his cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Tyler, Alyssa, Katie, Alex, Kylee, Sara, Alexandria, Madi, and Nash. Michael’s legacy extends to his great-grandsons, Oliver and William, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, his HEB family, his Wellington family and his bonus daughter, Stephanie, who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Billie Magee; his son-in-law, Jai Phillips; and his brother-in-law, Joe Long; along with many other precious family members.
Michael’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family will always be remembered. His presence brought joy and warmth to those around him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
