Michael A. Mahnke of Bedford, Texas peacefully passed away on December 20, 2022, at the age of 78, The family is deeply saddened that he had to battle cancer for only a few short months. Michael was born on September 23, 1944. Michael was predeceased by his wife, Susan M. Mahnke, His Mother and Father Margaret and Gordon, and his brother Gordon Jr. Michael is survived and missed by his daughter Michelle Mahnke Quintana, Son in Law Carlos Quintana of Grapevine, Texas; his daughter Jennifer Mahnke Munoz of Arlington Texas and her Fiancé Scott Sanford of Fort Worth, Texas; Grandchildren Leah Susan Munoz and Michael Andrew “Drew” Munoz.
His Memory will be cherished by his Brother Carl Mahnke of Waterford, Wisconsin, Sister-in-law Marge Mahnke; his sister, Patricia Radlinger (Mahnke) of Butternut, Wisconsin, and his many nieces and nephews and friends living throughout the United States.
Born in Portage, Wisconsin, Michael spent his early childhood in northern Wisconsin, and moved with his family to Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a young teenager. It was in Milwaukee at Pulaski High School where he met Susan “Suzy” Salo who would later become his wife and mother to his two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer who were his pride and joy. Michael was a veteran of the US Navy, and a graduate of Middlesex Community College in New Jersey. Michael’s work moved him and his family throughout the country, living in Kendall Park, New Jersey, Bowling Green, Kentucky; Indianapolis, Indiana; Effingham, Illinois and finally the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex of Texas where he and his family resided since 1986. Some of his greatest joys were traveling and camping with his family and close friends. Michael also enjoyed football, NASCAR, reading, discussing current events and cooking. He will be greatly missed.
Inurnment with honors will take place on Friday May 19, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas
