Michael Giles West

Michael Giles West, born on February 1, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, in Keller, Texas, at the age of 70.

Growing up in Richardson, Texas, Michael graduated from Richardson High School in 1972 before proudly serving as a Hull Technician in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1976. He continued to serve others throughout his life, whether through his dedication to his family, his work, or his community.

In 1979, Michael married Patricia Ann West, beginning a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years, raising two sons, Coy West and Aaron West, who were the pride and joy of Michael’s life.

Known for his big personality and impeccable sense of humor, Michael never knew a stranger. His outgoing demeanor and genuine interest in others led him to form connections everywhere he went, and he was unwaveringly loyal to his family and friends.

Passionate about soccer, Michael was dedicated to sharing the sport with others. He created the Homeschool Soccer program of North Texas, fostering a love of the game in countless young players. Throughout his life, Michael continued to coach kids' soccer teams, even into his later years, always bringing competitive enthusiasm and his deep knowledge of the sport to the field.

Along with his love of soccer, he also found joy in the outdoors - whether on the beach, sailing, camping, or simply being out on the lake. Nothing pleased him more than spending a sunny day on the beach enjoying the sounds of the waves and wind.

Michael loved bringing people together to celebrate and enjoy good times, which led him to achieve his lifelong dream of owning a nightclub. He could always be found enjoying the sounds of classic rock - a genre he was truly passionate about.

Michael was known for his solid work ethic and determination. He boldly faced life’s challenges with resilience and determination. He had a natural inclination to help those in need, particularly kids and those who were facing life’s struggles. His kindness, generosity, and spirit of encouragement left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward West and Donna Giles West.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia West, his two sons, Coy West and Aaron West, daughters-in-law, Shaunna West and Stacie West, grandchildren, Easton West, Wylde West, Ryden West, and Autumn West, and Michael’s sisters, Brenda West and Jennifer West.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
