Michaele Ann Harper passed away in North Richland Hills, Texas, on October 17, 2017, at the age of 74. Michaele Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Higgins, her mother, Jeanne Harper, and her father Richard Harper. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Catherine Harper, Lisa Howard, Buddy Harper, and Laura Freeland, her sisters, numerous loving in-laws, nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born in Port Clinton, Ohio, in 1943, Michaele Ann graduated from Cardome Visitation Academy, Georgetown, Kentucky, in 1960 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 1982. A professional artist for most of her adult life, she was the founder and proprietor of the Yellow House Gallery in Fort Worth, Texas. Michaele Ann was a docent at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas. She was committed to and active in politics and social justice causes. Because of Michaele Ann’s passion, creativity, and free spirit, she will be held close in the hearts of all who knew her.
The funeral service will be held at Smithfield Cemetery, North Richland Hills, Texas, with Pastor Nathan Tucker officiating. A private wake will take place at family residence after the internment.
