Michele Gilliland Kellar, 62, of Euless, Texas passed away on April 1, 2023.
Michele was born on December 31, 1960, in Waynesville, NC, the firstborn child and the only daughter of her parents.
With bright blonde hair and translucent blue eyes, Michele was a beautiful child who resembled her lovely mother. When she was only four, Michele was given the nickname “Angel” by her cousins. That beauty remained throughout her life, carrying her into high school cheerleading and beauty pageants, but it was not the only thing that drew others to Michele.
Even as a very young woman, Michele was known as a loving person, a nurturer of others, and someone who cared deeply about family. She was a young teenager when her mother died, but Michele stepped up to help raise her three younger brothers. She also nurtured her relationship with her grandparents, Ruby and Luther Gilliland, until their deaths. In her extended family, Michele reached out to aunts, uncles, and cousins, staying in touch with phone calls and following them on social media, offering loving comments to them and to the next generation of their families.
Michele never turned away from hard work. She was a proud American and a woman who received the redeeming love of God with gratitude. Michele’s heart was filled with happiness at the births of her two children, Jarrett and Kourtney. Her mother’s pride was evident any time she spoke of these two gifts in her life, and her beautiful blue/green eyes can be seen in each of them.
Michele is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Philip Kellar, her two children, Jarrett Crowe and Kourtney Kellar, and her brother, Joseph Anthony Gilliland, Jr.
Michele suffered the loss of many of her family members, and always spoke of each of them with love and tenderness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Anthony Gilliland, Sr. and Nancy Joyce Messer Gilliland, and her brothers, Glenn John Gilliland and Ted Truitt Gilliland.
