Michele Leigh (Kearney) Owens

Michele Leigh (Kearney) Owens beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and inspiration, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2018 in her home in Aubrey, TX. Michele was born in Englewood, New Jersey on August 14, 1970 and graduated in 1988 from University High School in Irvine, California. She is survived by her husband John Owens, mother, Susan (Shine) Hibbs and step-father Donald Hibbs; Father, Robert Kearney; Daughters Mackenzie (Tucker) Hyland, Caitlin (Cate) Tucker and Son Jack Tucker.

Michele spent her childhood in New Jersey and Rhode Island and teenage years in Orange County California. She attended San Diego State University then University of the Pacific where she graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology.

Michele fiercely fought Stage 4 breast cancer, which was initially diagnosed in November 2016. She courageously battled the disease which eventually spread to her brain in 2018. Texas Oncology and UT Southwestern cancer facilities helped her survive for over 2 years. Her positive attitude allowed her to accept any and all treatment options – anything to allow her to live longer for her children.

Michele’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Friday December 14, 2018 at 2pm at White Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 S White Chapel Blvd. Southlake, TX 76092.
