Mike Mitchell

Mike Mitchell, 65, of Rhome TX passed away June 24th at his home at New Fairview Airport. Mr. Mitchell was born in Lawton, OK on December 22, 1950 to Louis and Betty Mitchell. He was currently married to Laurie Mitchell on May 23, 2006.
His employment career was in Human Resources for 32 years beginning at Kerr McGee in Oklahoma City and ending at ADT in Dallas TX. However his passion was, is, and will always be Antique Airplanes which he enjoyed rebuilding and flying. He also enjoyed maintaining the runway for the Fairview Airport Runway Association. He was an active member in the Texas Chapter of the Antique Airplane Association (AAA) and a Lifetime member of the National AAA.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday July 23rd 2016 at his home 170 Dillavou Lane, Rhome, TX 76078.
Survivors include his wife Laurie Mitchell and his father Louis Mitchell Jr of Rhome. Children by marriage: Crystal Barr of Waco and DJ Thatcher of Fort Worth, their spouses, and grandson Michael Barr.
He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Mitchell and Sister Cora Beth Mitchell.
