Mildred Vivian Necaise

Burleson - On August 19, 2017, Millie went to the big ballpark in sky. She was born May 28, 1944 in Clovis, New Mexico to Vivian and Francis Bradley.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, August 23rd at 10:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 100 SW Alsbury Blvd., Burleson, TX 76028. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org .

On July 8, 1962 she married Melvin Vincent Necaise. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Robinson, her mother and father. SURVIVORS: Husband of 55 years Vince, son, Mike Necaise and wife Terrie of Benbrook, daughter, Michele Gustin and husband David of Cleburne, son, Mark Necaise and wife Jennifer of Burleson; 8 grandchildren: Brooke Ballew and husband Chris, Clint Price, Stacey Edington and husband Scott, Kyle Vaughan, Cody Necaise, Blake Gustin, Breanna Gustin, and Braden Necaise and 6 great-grandchildren: Avery Edington, Dylan Ballew, Caden Vaughan, Slaid Ballew, Emery Vaughan, and Wesley Laznovsky.

In 1960, Vince met Millie and immediately knew, she was the one. There was nothing that would keep him from her. Even while he did not have a car, he would ride a bus and walk 2 miles to her house every day to see her. From the time that Vince and Millie met until the last day of her life, they were always holding hands. They will always be a role model for marriage, commitment, lifetime love, and family.

She spent many years at St. Helena Catholic Church and School. She wasn’t just a mother to her 3 children, she was a mother to all. She was known as the Hobbs Sports Taxi to many children and most of her time was spent supporting her children in all of their sports endeavors. She was one proud mom and their biggest supporter.

After 45 years in Hobbs, Vince and Millie decided to sell it all and move to Texas to be closer to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You would think a move like that would be hard to adjust to, but not for Millie and Vince. They joined St. Ann Catholic Church, made friends and began a new life of retirement. Millie joined a quilting group and loved spending time with these ladies. She spent time with the loves of her life: family, quilting, and baseball. From the time she was a child she had a love for baseball and through the years developed a wealth of knowledge that would amaze even the biggest baseline enthusiast. This new chapter of life was a wonderful chapter.

Unfortunately, some times in life we get lemons. Millie was diagnosed with terminal cancer in June 2015. Even with that, Millie’s positivity and faith drove her to fight and fight she did. She faced every treatment head on and with the incredible support of her husband and children. At a time when most people would give up or be negative, she did not. She counted her blessings and was grateful for every day of life.

During her life there were many friends and family that shared thoughts and used many words to describe her, but the ones that really stand out to her family are: role model, loving, sweet, caring, hard-working, compassionate, center of the family, made people feel comfortable, friendly, all inclusive, even when you made mistakes she would still be supportive, funny, sincere, genuine, and what you saw is what you got.

As someone so elegantly said, “when your hour glass runs out of sand, you can’t flip it over and start again, take every breath God gives you for what it’s worth!” That is exactly what she did. She lived her life as God gave it to her, with no regrets. During the most difficult times, the loves of her life would motivate her. Somehow she would get up to spend time with her family, watch the Texas Rangers, and text loved ones to let them know she loved them. If you were lucky enough to know Millie, then you received a blessing for life and something to carry with you forever. When you come to a hard decision in life, ask yourself, what would Millie do? If you follow the wonderful lessons that she shared with you, your decision will be the right one.

She spent her last moments surrounded by what meant the most to her…family. Now, she is quilting with the angels, trading baseball trivia with the baseball greats in heaven, and will be greatly missed by all.
