Miles Lee Dinehart

May 9, 1954 — November 20, 2024

Miles Lee “Rat” Dinehart, 70, of Grapevine, TX, passed away unexpectedly in his home on November 20, 2024, due to an apparent heart attack.

Born on May 9, 1954, in Fort Worth, TX, Lee was the son of Chandler and Carol Dinehart. He grew up alongside his two brothers, Darren Dinehart and Mark Nanchy.

Lee married Karen Lewis in November 1973, and later, Carva Sitton in May 1978. Though both marriages ended in divorce, Lee’s generous and fun- loving spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

A passionate enthusiast of classic vans, Lee spent much of his life restoring and showcasing these vehicles. He was an active member of several local van clubs and was affectionately known as “Rat” within these communities—a nickname he earned in the early 1970s that stayed with him throughout his life. Lee took pride in participating in charitable initiatives like the Toys for Tots drives with his fellow van club members, combining his love for vanning with giving back to the community.

Beyond his van hobby, Lee enjoyed the strategic game of chess, conversing with his neighbors, and spending time at the local pub. For over 30 years, he called Grapevine home, with earlier chapters of his life spent in Hurst, Arlington, and Fort Worth.

Lee was predeceased by his parents, Chandler and Carol Dinehart. He is survived by his brothers, Darren Dinehart and Mark Nanchy, as well as his two nephews, Eric Dinehart and Adam Dinehart.

A Celebration of Life was held in his honor on January 18, 2025, where family and friends gathered to share stories and remember the man who brought passion, kindness, and a touch of humor to their lives.

Lee will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy as a friend, brother, and community member will endure.
