Milton Allen Luft, 76, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020, with dignity, honor and surrounded by love. He was the husband of Claudia Elizabeth Kobler-Luft (sharing 39 years of marriage, before her death in 2006), father to Cameron Elizabeth and Milton Brendan Luft, and grandfather to Catherine Michelle, Milton Ryan and Clara Louise Luft.
Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1943, he was the son of Milton O. and Louise Luft, and brother to Margaret Luft-Conley, George and Richard Luft.
Milton was a retired Army Veteran from the Signal Corps. He was an employee of American Airlines for 40 years, and loved to share his love of travel with his family. His career brought his family to North Texas in 1983, where Claudia retired as an elementary school teacher in 1991.
Milton was known for his humor and passion for stories. Late night bourbon and cigar discussions were well attended by close friends and family for many years. He was an avid reader, as well as interested in political and military history. In the Trophy Club, TX community, he actively volunteered at Lakeview Elementary as library assistant, crosswalk attendee and mentor for many years. Milton’s love and enthusiasm for well designed motorcycles, brought membership to the Boozefighters Motor Club, ownership and love of many Harley Davidson motorcycles and hundreds of miles on the open road.
Memorial services for Milton will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 10am at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine, TX.
Additional services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Chicago, Illinois, early June, 2020.
