Mina Faye Hefler, 76, passed away on April 28, 2016 following a battle with cancer. She was born in Abilene, TX on October 3, 1939 and grew up in Paint Creek, TX, graduating from Paint Creek High School. Mina attended Hardin Simmons University and graduated from Hendrick School of Nursing. After working in Abilene, she joined the United States Air Force where she served as a nurse. She always had a compassionate heart and loved to serve those around her. Mina loved Harold, her devoted husband of 44 years, and her three children and their families.
Mina is preceded in death by her parents, W.B. and Bertha Griffith. She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; children, Jennifer Maxwell and husband Troy; Nancy Calvin and husband Jim; Joseph Hefler; grandchildren, Jett and Jillian Maxwell; Riley, Carter, and Reese Calvin; Abygale and Justin Hefler; Cadence Hamby; siblings, Jean Berry and husband Glenn; Jimmy Griffith and wife Dorothy; Linda Sanders; and Brenda Reel; a host of relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Hefler, Justin Hefler, Troy Maxwell, Jett Maxwell, Jim Calvin, Carter Calvin, Joel Griffith, Johnny Griffith, Jodie Reel, Cruz Hernandez, Randy Mitchell, and Dennis Gay.
A memorial fund has been set up in Mina’s honor to bless others. Donations can be made to Gateway Church-Relational Care Ministries.
