Minnie Valeria Hall

Minnie Valeria Kuykendall Hall, age 94, died of natural causes on December 6, 2022, in Hurst, Texas.
Minnie is survived by her son Charlie Hall and wife Faye, of Colleyville, Texas; her sister Geraldine Wellborn, of Hutto Texas; Junior Hall and wife Nancy, of Grapevine, Texas; her grandchildren Carolyn Foster and husband Hayden, of Author City, Texas; Jeremy Hall and wife Merindy of Springtown, Texas; Marti Davis of China Springs, Texas; Mark Hall and wife, Chrisi of Alvord, Texas, Mitch Hall and Jeff, of Grapevine, Texas; Christi Hall of Colorado; Kirby Hall of Grapevine, Texas; Sherman Hall and Melinda, of Ponder Texas, and many great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hall, Grapevine, Texas; her daughter Gayle Hall, of Grapevine, Texas; her stepson Dale Hall, of Grapevine, Texas; her grandson Deke Hall, of Grapevine, Texas; her two brothers and two sisters, and her mom and dad.

Minnie was born on April 11, 1928 in, Rock Spring, Texas, to parents James Arnold Kuykendall and Leona Sybil Sparks. She graduated from Justin High School in Justin Texas with a high school degree. In 1941, she moved to The Glade and work in the fields picking produce. Where she met her husband Leonard Hall and his two sons Junior and Dale. They married had a business owning a mercantile in The Glade. They expanded their work and moved to Lake Grapevine where they owned a rod and reel camp called Midway Camp, where Minnie was famous for cooking catfish for the local community. Soon word got around on how great her catfish was and soon they had to open a restaurant called Midway Camp. Sometime later it would be renamed Catfish Hut. During this time Minnie had two children Charlie and Gayle completing their family of four children. Minnie was very involved in her community and was part of many organizations including Grapevine Garden Club, Grapevine Historical Society, Grapevine VFW, and many others. Minnie loved to travel and when she was not traveling, she was gardening, or hauling around the grandkids and later the great grandkids.

The viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.
The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church located at 1002 N. Park Blvd, Grapevine, Texas 76051. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Minnie Hall’s life.
