Monia Johnson was born October 31, 1950 in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Edgar and Robbie Mae Johnson.
Monia passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Monia was a school teacher at Gary Community School for 35 years and a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1968.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John E. Johnson and Robert Johnson; sisters, Robbie Lee Johnson and Burda Franklin.
She leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters, Michelle (Carlos) Bowen and Malinda (James) Monroe; six loving grandchildren, Aisha, Kesi, Hadiya, Tatianna, Imani, and Jahi; 4 great grandchildren, Carter, Hassan, Asiyami, and Ameena and numerous other relatives and friends.
