We announce with heavy hearts the passing of a truly remarkable individual, Monica Martin. Monica exhibited unwavering courage in her two-year fight against metastatic breast cancer before the Lord called her home.
Monica was born in Encino, California, and relocated to Texas in 1982. She was a devout follower of her Lord, Jesus Christ, and generously shared her testimony with those around her. Her dedication extended beyond her faith, encompassing her love for her Family, her Country, and her Friends.
A proud U.S. Marine, Monica served in Asia for several years, concluding her service as part of the team that transitioned the El-Toro Marine base in Southern California. She was an esteemed graduate of the "Mean Green" University of North Texas. Monica's professional journey included fifteen years with the IT group at RadioShack, and more recently, she was a valued member of the Bank of America resolution team in North Texas, cherishing her job, her company, and especially her colleagues at BofA.
Monica approached life with a "compassionate intent," balancing her Marine toughness with a tender heart for the homeless and stray animals. Her adventurous spirit knew no bounds, and she lived life to the fullest, leaving behind a legacy of energy, passion, and love for her fellow human beings. Monica found joy in outdoor activities, gardening, crafting, camping, exploring history, indulging in British murder mysteries, reading, and the color Purple.
Survived by her beloved family: her father, John Martin; mother, Linda Martin Chiarelli; step-mother, Kay Martin; step-father, Henry Chiarelli; sister, Melissa Martin, and husband, Ashley Breuer; sister, Sheila Ryan, and husband, Kelly; nephew, Eric Ryan, and wife, Mashaal, along with their daughters, Zara and Leena; niece, Tori Ryan; step-sister, Lisa Chiarelli, and daughter, Kayla; step-brother, Jeff Chiarelli, and wife, April, and their daughters, Aubrey and Caroline, step-brother Seth Gaston and many treasured
