Nadine M. Puhlman was born April 7, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Maxwell and Thelma Bacon Puhlman. She was the oldest of 4 children and loved taking care of her younger brothers. They always teased her about "rulin' the roost." She graduated from South Hills High School. She married Bruce "Bill" Parrish in 1948. They were blessed with two children, Beverly and Bruce, Jr.
Bill was in sales but his dream was to be a fashion designer. Nadine was a beautiful seamstress and she and Bill created some fabulous clothing. The family moved to Dallas in 1959 thinking the fashion industry was larger there than Pittsburgh. Although they created clothes for several elite customers, they never made it big and always had second jobs. In Dallas Nadine got a job at Touche Ross where she worked for 25 years. Bill passed away in 1984 after 36 years of marriage.
Nadine had 3 loves in her life; her Heavenly Father and the church, her family, and genealogy. While she was a widow she traveled a lot. Her grandson took her to Germany to visit extended family who were helping with her genealogy and to visit the city where Bill was wounded WWII. She traveled to Wales, where her grandmother was from, and traveled to Australia to visit her daughter's family. Nadine also worked at the Dallas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was there she met Joseph Drysdale. She was a giggly teenager and happy to find love again. They married in 1997. She and Joseph had a wonderful retirement together and they spent a lot of time traveling around the United States with a lot of trips to Pittsburgh with their favorite travel companions, Bob and Susie Drysdale.
She is preceded in death by her three brothers, Don, Dick and Bill Puhlman. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Drysdale; her children, Beverly and Dennis Carney, Bruce and Deborah Parrish, Richard Drysdale, Kenneth and Jeanne Drysdale, Nathan and Cherie Drysdale, Sharon and Guy Buswell, Kimberly and Jim Mast; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
