Nancy was born Oct 21, 1941, in Swampscott, MA to father Charles W. and Eleanor Carlyn. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Richard Hooton. As a wife to a Marine and executive for Mobil Oil, Nancy grew accustomed to moving and spent the next twenty-five years chasing her three children in California, Texas, New Jersey and New York until finally cornering two kids near Coppell, TX. She and Rich later moved to Trophy Club where she spent years as a professional grandmother and trying to figure out the game of golf.
“We’ve been blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Nancy, chief among them: Never turn down a glass of wine or a chance to dance, walk kindly and carry a big smile, be a great friend and rise up when needed, let them learn from their mistakes, give thanks for this life, and be exceptional or exceptionally lucky. Nancy was all of these and much more.”
Nancy was preceded in death by her late parents; her two brothers, Bill and Bobby Carlyn.
FAMILY: Husband, Richard; Children, Jeff and Maria Hooton, Kevin and Ebby Hooton, Sheila and Jeff Dwyer; Grandchildren (7): Elena and Jordan Fetterman, Michael, Abbey, Kevin, Ryann, Carlyn and Natalie
