Nancy Elizabeth Brown Powers passed peacefully at the age of 88 in Southlake, Texas.
She was born on March 7, 1934, in Marshall, Texas to parents Melwyn Fugler (Sutherland) and Lake Brown. Nancy married Jay Dee Powers, Jr. on June 10, 1951.
After she graduated high school, Nancy became a business owner with her husband overseeing oil and gas and real estate businesses. Her greatest achievement was being a devoted wife for nearly 64 years and a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always loved her babies and grands, but jokingly said you could take them back when they started school!
Nancy and Jay Dee moved from Irving to Southlake in 1972 where they continued to reside until passing. Nancy loved the outdoors. One would often find her fishing at the family farm in Canton or out on a riding lawn mower. She even enjoyed her very own air-conditioned tractor! Nancy was also a huge Texas Rangers fan and looked forward to each ball season, cheering ball players by name! She loved playing cards and board games and doing puzzles with her grandkids.
