Nancy Louise Thamer West, age 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Community Hospice of Texas Hospice House at the James L. West Facility in downtown Fort Worth.
She was born July 6, 1945 in Pampa, to Edwin Allen and Mary Elisabeth (Mann) Thamer. She was a 1963 graduate of East High School in Cheyenne, Wyo. She married Arthur William West on July 29, 1965, in Cheyenne.
She worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years as a surgical nurse. Nancy truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; working in her garden, lunching and shopping with her girlfriends, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her daughters and granddaughter, Westley (Wessie) Camp. She was also a certified Texas Master Gardener.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; two daughters, Cheryl Camp and Cara Wainwright; and two brothers, Ed Thamer (Carol Thamer) of Gretna, Nebraska and Richard Thamer (Janie Thamer) of Amarillo, Texas. She also leaves behind her precious granddaughter Westley.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Nancy touched are invited to attend funeral services at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 7452 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76054, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
