Naomi Levey Coontz

Naomi Levey Coontz, 88, of Burleson, was called to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, June 23, 2023.

Naomi was born on her family’s farm in Burleson, Texas. She graduated from Waxahachie High School and continued her education at Texas Wesleyan. She graduated with a Masters in Education and taught for many years. Naomi was a director of Special Education and a Principal at Frazier Elementary in Burleson. She was married to Jim Coontz for 66 years until his death in 2020.

Naomi enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Burleson. She was also very proud of all of her grandchildren and their accomplishments.

She is survived by her son Greg Coontz and wife Donna; daughter Cathy Frederick and husband Ned; grandchildren Lindsey Coontz, Rachel Coontz, Brooke Frederick, Hayden Frederick and wife Megan, and Corbin Frederick.

Naomi is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Abb Coontz, parents G.H. Levey and Jessie Levey, and her sister Betty Ann Levey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2203 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson.

A memorial fund has been set up with Burleson Area Retired School Employees in her name.
