Necia Lee Spilker

June 7, 1938 — December 21, 2024

Bedford

Necia Lee Spilker joined her husband George and numerous friends and family that proceeded her in Heaven on Saturday, December 21st, 2024. She was born June 7th, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Necia’s proudest achievements were her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved being active in the community. In Ohio she was involved in Kiwanis, Eastern Star Brecksville Chapter and a member of Valley View Village Church. Necia enjoyed travelling and was always up for an adventure. She looked forward to spending time with the Lincoln Ladies and the special sisterhood they created.

Necia worked at Ohio Bell and Independence Police Department as a dispatcher for over 30 years. She was so proud of her time at the police department and was always sure to work it into a conversation. Her smile would grow when talking about the good old days and the special friendships that she gained during her career. Many of the officers considered her a second mom and she cherished those relationships.

In 2022, Necia took a big step and moved to Texas to be in the warmer weather! She adored the neighborhood that she moved to where they hosted so many events including Bunco, Book Club and Supper Club. She loved the Bedford Senior Center especially playing Mexican Train. She continued to be a member of Valley View Village Church watching virtual every Sunday.

To know Necia is to love her. She never met a person that she didn’t have a relationship with after a few minutes. She was the “Spark” at every event. She would say that she didn’t need to kiss the Blarney Stone since she already had enough Blarney in her. She truly lived her best life, and we are all better for knowing her.

Necia is survived by her son Dean and wife Brenda, son Lee and wife Kourtney, granddaughter Kayla Gawronski and husband Corey, grandson Gregory, great grandchildren Macie Jo, Nolan Dean, brother Larry Paulen and wife Linda, brother Michael Powers and wife Becca, brother Glen Paulen and wife Linda, Sister-in-law Lorraine Myers and husband Phil, niece Sandy Burrington and husband Jack, beloved puppy Myles and numerous friends and family.

As Necia would say: “For Pete’s Sake, we will miss you”!

In lieu of flowers, Necia requested that donations be made to Independence Ohio Kiwanis Foundation or Bedford Texas Senior Center.

Memorial Service scheduled for January 25th at 2 pm at Lucas Funeral Home (1321 Precinct Line, Hurst, TX 76053). Necia will take her final adventure to Cleveland, Ohio to be honored by friends and family and laid to rest with her late husband George.
