Nicholas “Nick” Dmitri Marchant was born on March 22, 2000 in Plano, Texas and passed away on December 10, 2021 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 21 years old.
Nicholas was the joy of his family. Despite his inability to communicate verbally, he had an uncanny ability to spread that joy to those around him. Everyone who ever spent time with him, grew to love him. He had an infectious laugh – more of a boisterous giggle, and when one would hear it they couldn’t help but to smile. He was helpful and paid attention to the small things that made big differences in the lives of those he loved. He was mischievous and funny. He loved to solve and work puzzles. He also enjoyed watching all sports and even participated in the Special Olympics as a bowler, but he also ran track and loved to swim. He listened to his favorite country music with Alan Jackson and Taylor Swift being two of his favorite singers. He enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He liked amusement parks, animals and loved to eat cheese. He was preceded in death by his father, Marc Russell Marchant.
Nicholas is survived by his mother, AG Marchant of Grand Prairie; big brother, Stefan Marchant and Chelsea Wikle of Dallas; paternal aunt, Anita Marchant of Arlington; cousin, Peggy Chambers of Dallas; and caregiver and friend, Detorie Morrison of DeSoto.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
