Nicolas Gregory Roye, 31, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in Caddo Mills, TX. He was born November 28, 1990 in Fort Worth, Texas to Gregory Roye and Melissa Elleven Mansfield. He grew up in Fort Worth, and he graduated from W. E. Boswell High School in 2009. After high school he attended Tarrant County College and Methodist Hospital of Dallas where he completed the Paramedic Education Program. He went to work for Air Evac Lifeteam in Hillsboro, TX as a Flight Paramedic, making 212 flights, and earning the nickname “Sky Doctor.” He also worked for Teddy Bear Air at Cook Children's Hospital.
Nic was engaged to Sarah Epps of Caddo Mills, TX and was thrilled about their future together. He was a member of Pathway Church in Burleson, TX. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, camping and anything with his children, family and friends. Growing up, he was on the high school golf team, was an avid violinist and was a member of the Texas Boys Choir. Nic was always the life of the party and could put a smile on anyone’s face yet always took time to help anyone who needed him, including saving the lives of too many to count and tutoring others for their national testing to become EMTs and Paramedics. His smile was infectious and he genuinely cared for all he knew, loved and served.
Nic was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Theda Blakley Elleven and paternal grandfather, James Richard Roye.
Nic is survived by his parents, Melissa Mansfield and husband, Brad of Burleson, TX and Greg Roye and wife, Angie of Fort Worth, TX; son, Hayden; daughters, Madalynn and Tinsley; the mother of his children, Tifani Roye all of Burleson, TX; brothers, Austin Pippin, Chase Roye and Lane Roye all of Fort Worth, TX; his fiancé, Sarah Epps and her daughters, Harley and Tatum; maternal grandfather, James Elleven; paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Rogers; aunts and uncles Sherry Simms and husband, Barry, Darin Roye and wife, Bobbie, Russell Elleven and wife, Gayle and Tami Avalos and husband, Rudy; cousins, Zacary and Hunter Phillilps, and Cody and Justin Roye; bonus siblings, Lauren Mansfield and fiancé, Dustin Joubert, Sarah Branham and husband, Matt and Luke Mansfield and wife, Emily; bonus mom, Stephanie Love; his crazy dog Oakley; and many other friends and relatives.
A visitation will be held at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home, 518 SW Johnson Ave, Burleson, TX 76028 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm on June 5, 2022. A memorial service will be held at Pathway Church, 325 NW Renfro, Burleson, TX 76028 at 1:00 pm, June 6, 2022. Burial will follow at Burleson Memorial Cemetery, 490 Memorial Plaza, Burleson, TX 76028. A reception will be held at Pathway Church following the graveside service.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Nic’s church Pathway Church of Burleson, Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, all of his family and friends and the endless number of First Responders Nic worked with and who worked to help him in his final moments.
Nic’s love for his children, family and friends was enormous. Words can’t describe how much he will be missed.
