Noel Gustav Ehresmann

Noel Gustav Ehresmann, 89, of Euless, Texas, beloved father, grandfather, and friend died on March 5, 2024, after a two-year battle with cancer. A memorial will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at a later date at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
Noel was born on October 26, 1934, in Wagner, South Dakota, the son of Gustav Ehresmann and Pauline (Rehurek) Ehresmann. The Ehresmanns were farmers. As a child, Noel loved the time he spent with his grandfather, Christian Ehresmann, on his farm.
At the age of seventeen, Noel, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Renville, a Haskell-class attack transport, during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on October 25, 1955, one day before his twenty-first birthday.
Noel married Donna Jean Leistra on May 26, 1955. Together they lived in Ohio and Indiana while Noel used the GI Bill to attend trade school and become a Tool and Die Designer. Noel spent his career with New Era Industries and LeFebure Design in Cedar Rapids, IA, Siemens Allis in Wichita Falls, TX, Menacso in Euless, and General Dynamics, and Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth.
Noel and Donna had three children, Debbie, David, and Denice. They raised their family in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In the late seventies, the family began the move to Texas.
Noel is survived by Debbie (Douglas) Ochoa, David (Patricia) Ehresmann, grandchildren Derek (Courtney) Ochoa, Desiree Ochoa, Devin Ochoa, Alexander Ehresmann, and his sister, Violet Peters.
Noel is preceded in death by his parents, his six brothers, and daughter Denice Gray.
Noel was extremely proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed doing any and all activities with Derek, Desiree, Devin, and Alex. He was an avid shuffleboard player and a long-time member of the American Legion Post 379 in Bedford, Texas. He loved to country dance on Sunday nights and was a Texas Rangers fan.
