Nona Gayle Spurrier Webster, 75, died in faith in Crowley, TX on August 6, 2024. Her life story began in Abilene, TX on January 18, 1949, born to her loving parents Earl and Rebecca Susie Jurd Spurrier. They raised Gayle and her two older brothers, Curtis Earl and Hulen Boyd Spurrier, in the nurture and admonition of God’s word.
Gayle graduated salutatorian in 1967 from Eula High School where she played basketball and was active in Future Homemakers of America. On a double-date in high school, Gayle met and later married the love-of-her-life Gary Lee Webster in 1966. After Gary’s service in the US Air Force, he and Gayle moved to Columbus, IN. They worshiped at 10th Street and then 25th Street Churches of Christ, lovingly raising their daughters Jodi Kay and Kelly Annette. Gayle was a homemaker and began a 30-year career in adult probation. She had a beautiful alto singing voice and was asked to sing at special occasions. In August 1985, the family moved to Crowley, TX and Gayle became a member of Woodmont Church of Christ in Fort Worth, worshiping and laboring among them with her husband. After retiring in 2005 from Tarrant County Adult Probation, she and Gary enjoyed traveling 45 of the 50 states and abroad.
During their 58 years of marriage, Gayle and Gary faced the joys and trials of life with humor and great love. Gayle’s life as a Christian was an example of unwavering faith in God and His word. She leaves a legacy of love for her husband, family and dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
