Norma Lou Moore nee Crook was born August 30, 1930 in Johnson County, Cleburne, TX to John Albert Crook and Maggie Lena Crook nee Jones. She grew up in “Goatneck”, the Freeland/Highland community south of Cleburne, TX.
Norma married James H. Moore on December 13, 1947 in Cleburne, TX. She & James lived in Cleburne & Fort Worth before they settled in Amarillo in 1954. There they lived and raised their family of four daughters: Deanna Beth Severance, Darla Nell Henderson, Janet Lynn Perry, and Gayla Ann Seymour. Norma worked at the Amarillo Credit Bureau & Texas American Bank, but mostly she was a homemaker. She sewed quite well making dozens of costumes, pageant dresses, bridesmaid dresses & Easter outfits for her girls. Norma and James were married 59 years when James died December 16, 2006. In 2009 Norma moved to Hurst, Texas and resided with her daughter, Gayla until her death. She attended First Baptist Church Euless (now Cross City).
Norma was preceded in death by her daughters Darla and Janet and by her parents & siblings: Beryl Rives, Virginia Morrow, Willena Athans, John Carlton Crook, Ruby Nell Patrick and Joyce Dawn Brock.
She is survived by: daughter Deanna Severance of Nashville, TN and daughter Gayla Seymour of Hurst, TX; 7 grandchildren: Greg Henderson of Leesburg, VA, Cressa Mast of Bristol, TN, Windy Brown of Mineola, TX, Sarah McGhee of Cottontown, TN, Kevin Johnson of Albuquerque, NM, Jimmy Seymour III of Corpus Christi, TX, Joshua Seymour of Houston, TX; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren
