Norman was born March 3, 1935 to Dewey and Annie Scroggins in Memphis, Texas. He grew up working on area farms since the family worked as sharecroppers. In addition to family, his career in aviation was another of his passions.
Norman was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He lived a long, beautiful life spent loving his ever growing family.
Norman met the love of his life, Dorothy Rieger, on a blind date. They married on October 29,1955 and raised three wonderful children. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and joy. He was always their biggest supporter in their lives.
Norman is survived by his children Shirley (Terry) Dulworth, Dennis (Lynn) Scroggins , Karen (Eric) Nelson; six grandchildren Clinton (Andrea) Dulworth, Gregory (Jennifer) Dulworth, Candace (Mel) Scroggins-Goding, Ryan (Lindsay) Scroggins, Sara (Mitchell) Milligan, Steven Nelson; nine great-grandchildren Ella Dulworth, Avery Dulworth, Aria Dulworth, Samuel Kinsey, Jaxon Dulworth, Michael Scroggins, Tyler Scroggins, Heidi Jo Milligan, and Wesley Milligan; and many nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy. He was also preceded in passing by his parents, as well as 11 brothers and sisters.
Due to restrictions at the cemetery, in lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Norman’s name to the Presbyterian Night Shelter or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
