On November 25, 1919 in Princeton, West Virginia, Walter and Georgia (Perry) Clark welcomed the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Ola Lee. Ola grew up in Princeton, West Virginia and was educated in the Princeton, West Virginia public school system.
Ola met and married Grover Farr and to this union was born Warren Farr. Ola later married Percy Phillips.
Ola loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Princeton, West Virginia, later the Galilee Baptist Church in Arlington, West Virginia, and culminated her service with her family at Bethlehem Baptist Church where she became the Mother of the Church in Mansfield, Texas. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and singing hymns such as Never Alone and I Stretch my Hands to Thee.
Ola had a great concern for those less fortunate, she fed the hungry, she clothed those who didn’t have, and gave money for needy causes. Her motto was “I don’t have much, but I have enough to share”. She loved the Seasoned Saints and bible study and often said that “those teachers taught the word like it was supposed to be”.
Ola was preceded in death by her husbands, Grover Farr and Percy Phillips and siblings.
The crowning jewels of her matriarchy are her son Warren (Brenda) Farr; grandchildren Leontyne, Warren, Toni; her great-grandchildren Whitney (Johnathan), Jarryl (LaMecca), Shardea, Ki’Asha, Ki’Ana; and great-great grandchildren De’Lacy, Chandler, Raiyen, Grayson, Kaia, and Baby DeJohnette (due June 2019), her brother Raymond, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who brought her immense joy.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day….
