Olga Henderson passed away at the age of 73, on Friday, October 12, 2018. She was born on August 6, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Fred and Mildred Alexander. She graduated from Murrell Dobbins Technical High School in the West Lehigh neighborhood of North Philadelphia. She earned college credits from Metropolitan Community College-Longview, Lee’s Summit, MO, and worked for many years at Arthur Andersen Accounting Firm, Kansas City, MO in data processing. Olga’s career continued until retirement with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), Overland Park, KS in Information Technology. During this time, she achieved expertise and various professional certifications, helping to set up network and telecommunications systems in corporate offices around the country.
After her retirement in the fall of 2010, Olga relocated to Mansfield, TX to be near her family. She enjoyed a life of leisure, watching old westerns & cowboy shows, Bible study, caring for her grandson, and spending quality time with her family and good friends.
Olga was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred, as well as her siblings Edward, Angeline, Cora, Fred Jr. and Viola. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Stephanie Golden of Arlington, TX, her son, John Golden (Stacy) of Kennedale, TX, and her grandchildren, Olivia Golden and Aden Golden of Kennedale, TX. She will also be forever remembered by her beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Celebrations of Olga’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on October 18, 2018, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1188 West Broad Street, Mansfield, TX, and at 11 a.m. on October 20, 2018, at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 9201 Eastern Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Interment at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
