Oma Rea Crowley

February 26, 1922 — July 23, 2017

Oma Rea Tims Crowley was born February 26, 1922 in a small community of Slade, Mitchell County, Texas. Her parents were Mack Narry Tims and Hattie Susane Crawford. Her father's family were from Paint Rock, Jackson County, Alabama and her mother's family were from Ellijay, Gilmer County, Georgia. She had 2 brothers and 3 sisters and she was the last living of them.
Oma was loved by everyone she knew. She was a kind, caring and loving person. She loved to dance and loved music, they made her happy. She would always tap her leg to the rhythm of the music.
She joined the Lonesome Dove Baptist Church near Grapevine and was baptized in Denton Creek.
She met her husband, James T. Crowley when she was 18 in Grapevine. WWII interrupted their relationship for 5 years. After the War, they married November 21, 1945.
She had her son, James Dwayne in 1946 and 2 daughters, Velta Rae and Alta fay in 1949. She reared 3 children and 2 of her grandchildren. All her grandchildren loved her.
She worked at Texas Instruments of Richardson, Texas from 1958 until 1981. She was very proud of her work history and her job brought stability to the family and allowed vacations for her family to enjoy. She loved to sew and enjoyed making clothes for her daughters.
While working, she would go to Parkland Burn Hospital and after work on Fridays and see a young girl who was about 4 years old and always took her a toy.
She lived at an assisted living apartment in Nocona, Cherry Street Village for 8 years and they loved her. After breaking her hip she moved to Grace Care Nursing home in Nocona and she was a favorite there. In 2015, she was honored to become their Valentine Queen. She would roll down the hall in her wheelchair saying "Woohoo" and "OBoy". She brought joy and FUN to the staff and the other patients. They laughed a lot with her. Just right after she passed away, the kitchen staff gave her a lost "Woohoo" and "Oboy"
Oma had 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren
