Patricia “Pat” Deleon Berry was born on April 12, 1956, in Del Rio, Texas. She was called to be with the Lord on January 11, 2023 at the age of 67 in Hurst, Texas.
Pat loved country dancing and showing off her amazing skills but was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as homemaker. Always cooking and baking WAY TOO MUCH food. Though occasionally she’d bake a forgotten spatula into the casserole, her food was always delicious.
She was a fighter of cancer and fought ferociously until the very end. Pat was very loved and will be deeply missed by so many. She had a vivacious personality and a heart of gold. She always made people around her laugh & feel at home. She was always willing to open her home and lend a helping hand. She has left a permanent mark in some many people’s lives.
Pat is survived by her stepfather Dean Henninger, her sister Sandra DeHoyos, her brothers Robert Correa and Dean Henninger, her children Nydia Vargas, Christina Vargas, Tristen Berry and Christen Berry; Colyn Berry (father to her sons) grandchildren Adyson, Bayne , Coltyn, great grandchildren Charleigh and Ava; along with many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Norma Ramon Henninger and her twin sister Lillian Deleon Bowers
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. On Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 18, 2023 also at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
A Little While
Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow,
but remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smile.
I’ve only gone to rest for a little while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
my going has eased my hurt and given me relief.
So, dry your eyes and remember me.
not as I am now, but as I used to be.
Because I will remember you all,
and look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts,
I’ve only gone to rest for a little while.
