Patricia Brandon-McCarty

Patricia Brandon McCarty, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on August 19, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1940 she moved to Weatherford Tx. Patricia lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy. She was a faithful member of St Barnabas Anglican Church up to the beginning of her failing health. 

Patricia graduated from Weatherford High School, where she was an active member of the marching band. After high school, she worked alongside her father as a bookkeeper in his carpet store until he sold the business. She then transitioned into sales.

In 1978, Patricia met the love of her life, Ronnie McCarty, and they later married. They have been best friends and inseparable for forty-five wonderful years.

Patricia's professional journey included working as a realtor starting in 1984 - 1994. She later joined Ronnie at R, L's Automotive as the shop manager until they closed the shop in 2004. Following that, Patricia dedicated five years to nurturing young minds as a substitute teacher in the Keller ISD Middle School.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Peter, and Dr. Hazel McDermott; her sister, Sheila Johnson; and her son, Marcus McCarty. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronnie McCarty; her loving sister, Sandra Allen; her brother, Victor McDermott; her children, Sydney Cowling, David Cowling, and Carl Brandon; her cherished granddaughters, Tatiana, and Kendra, Grandson Jonathan Cowling; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

One of Patricia's greatest pleasures was watching her son Marcus excel in sports, a joy she extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless pride and happiness into her life. She cherished every moment spent with her family, celebrating their achievements and milestones.

Her memory will be forever treasured by her family and friends, who will remember her as a beacon of love and support. Patricia's legacy of kindness, dedication, and family values will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held at St. Vincent's Cathedral Anglican Church, 1300 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford, Texas 76022 on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Heart Association in Patricia's honor.
