Patricia Kaczmarski, 71, went to her Heavenly home with Jesus on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.
Pat was born on May 1, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Dorothy and Frank Kulak. She lived in the same house with her parents and brother, Frank, until the day she married!!
After high school, Pat attended Frankford Hospital School of Nursing, where she attained her RN status in May of 1973. While there, she met the love of her life, Rich Kaczmarski. Rich was attending LaSalle University and they met through mutual friends. They married September 22, 1973, at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not too long after their wedding, and “much to the dismay” of her Mom and Dad (and Pat!!), they relocated to Buffalo, New York. There Pat worked at the VA hospital while pursuing her BSN at the University of Buffalo. While there, they welcome their first child, Dan, in April of 1979. Soon it was off again, this time, to Connecticut where Rich started a different position within his company. While in Connecticut, Pat took on the task of full-time motherhood. Three years into life in Connecticut, they welcomed their second bundle of joy, Monica, in February of 1982. With a new job opportunity, soon after Monica was born, the family moved to Naperville, Illinois later in 1982. Pat once again, continued her pursuit of her BSN, this time at Illinois Benedictine University, while being an amazing and loving mom. In 1984 the family, once again relocated, this time to Scottsdale, Arizona. Pat “refused to move one more time” until she finished her degree! Finally able to stay put long enough, Pat worked in Home Healthcare and attained her BSN, graduating in 1987 from Arizona State University.
The last job transfer brought them to Grapevine, Texas where Rich and Pat put down deep roots. Their children graduated from high school here and they became a founding family for Good Shepherd Catholic Community. In 1993, Pat was able to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. Soon after graduating, she began her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner, which she joyfully practiced until her final days. She always said that the satisfaction she got out of her career significantly outweighed the effort she put into it. Her patients and fellow staff members became family.
Pat happily celebrated the marriages of her two children and the birth of her two grandsons, the lights of her life. She attended her children and grandkids countless sports games, concerts, football games and anything else they wanted to pursue. Pat was a Mom and Grandma who ‘showed up’. Her Catholic Faith and Church played an important role in every aspect of her life, as a nurse, wife, sister, daughter, mother, mother-in-law, and grandma. With her strong example, her legacy continues in her children and grandsons. It is impossible to fit every wonderful thing about Pat into words. She was a selflessly devoted, compassionate and faithful woman. She will be immensely missed, but we will look forward to our reunion in Heaven one day.
Pat is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, Frank, and Dorothy Kulak. She is survived by her husband, Rich; son, Dan (Kelly); daughter, Monica (Mason); grandsons, Evan and Connor; brother, Frank (Julie), and many more family and friends.
