Patricia Goins Malone

On January 28, 2021, Patricia “Pat” Goins Malone, of Euless Texas, passed away at age 85. Pat was born May 31, 1935, in Mount Airy, NC, to Grant and Jeston Goins.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her dear husband of 40 years, Ralph "Larry" Malone. She always said it was love at first sight when she and Larry met, and it was obvious to anyone who knew them that the passion never waned. Larry could always tell you, to the hour, how long they had been married: Pat was the love of his life, and every moment together was precious to them. They had been married for exactly 39 years, 5 months, 22 days, and 5 hours when she passed. They had been together for 40 years, 7 months, and 28 days.
Pat loved sewing and was a professional seamstress for all her life, with a very creative eye for detail, and was generous with her talents. She loved making treasures which she sold at craft shows. She and Larry caught the internet bug early on, and she made and sold thousands of her handcrafts on the internet, including her famous Potato Baking Bag. But she also loved giving away her handmade items to friends, family and those in need. She made 200 hand-quilted wall hangings of the Last Supper that she donated to churches throughout North Carolina. She donated hundreds of her homemade military insignia pillows to veterans. Seeing the need healthcare workers had for PPE at the start of the pandemic, she donated scores of handmade masks to front-line healthcare workers. And Pat made gifts for friends and family of her homemade blankets, pillows, and countless other items that are treasured by all.
Pat will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Larry Malone, by her daughters, Kathy McGuinness and Becky Malone, by her sons-in-law, Charles McGuinness and Frank Dixon, by her stepdaughters, Lynn Ayers, Marcey Webb, and Colleen Slate, and by their children and grandchildren. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Hill, Phillip Goins, Allen Wimbley, Amber Swaney, Sarah Kainec, Stephanie Snyder, Corey Snyder, and Andy McGuinness, and by her 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-laws and brothers-in laws, Ethel Goins, Sally Johnson, Don Johnson, and Vicki Malone, and by countless cousins, nephews, nieces, and beloved family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Jeston Goins, her brother Danny Gray Goins, her sons Jerry Lee Goins and Phillip David Goins, her stepson Paul Malone, her brother-in-law John "JR" Malone, and sister-in-law Linda Malone.
Pat will be cremated and, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, memorial services will be postponed until a later date. Flowers, gifts, or donations may be sent to your local hospital cancer unit in Pat's name.
