Pat continued her career in nursing, working for many years for several doctors and finally at the then new, Huguley Hospital, as head nurse on the Pediatric Orthopedic floor.
Pat retired early so she could pursue her many interests and hobbies and to spend more time with her grandchildren. She loved gardening, painting and growing things. An avid horsewoman, Pat always loved horses. 4H showing when her children were young soon progressed to owning racehorses and eventually breeding and showing World Champion Appaloosas and POA ponies. She was an Appaloosa Reserve World Champion and won hundreds of ribbons and trophies over the years. Pat accomplished all of
this when was in her early 70’s. Her competitors called her a “spitfire” in the showring.
Pat is survived by her three children, by her brother, Kenneth Proctor and her close cousin, Donna Jean Dockstader. Her three children blessed her with 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, who were the celebration of her life.
