Patricia Mary Smith

Patricia Mary (Pat) Smith went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday,
February 18, 2024.
Patricia was born to William H. Steele and Shirley M. Graham Steele on May 29,
1938 in Bennett, Colorado. she graduated (as the Valedictorian) from Bennett
High School in 1956.
She met Gerald L. Smith and they married on November 8, 1958. They gave
birth to a daughter, Synthia Ruth (Syndie) Smith on July 27, 1959 and a son,
William Gerald (Bill) Smith on February 19, 1961.
The family was transferred to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1967 and again to
Dallas, Texas in 1970.
Patricia worked as the office manager at CKOE Builders in Hurst, Texas for
several years, followed by over a decade at U.S. Customs in Irving, Texas. She
retired in 2003.
In retirement, she volunteered with the Hurst Police Department as a Citizen
Patrol for several years. Patricia was an avid square dancer and loved two stepping to country & western music. She also, greatly enjoyed her membership in the Red
Hat Society.
Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter, Syndie Chandler. She is
survived by ex-husband, Gerald and wife, Shirley of Taylorsville, Kentucky, son,
Bill and wife, Felicia of Colleyville, Texas, granddaughter, Jessica and husband
Alex Curry of Clear Lake Shores, Texas, granddaughter, Kylie Smith of Austin, Texas,
granddaughter Bailey Smith of College Station, Texas, and the apple of her eye,
great granddaughter Riley Grace Curry.
Pat loved, she was loved and she will be missed.
Memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Lucas
Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas.
