Patricia Dean Williams

April 9, 1932 — July 19, 2023

Patricia Dean Williams, resident of Joshua, Texas, formerly of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on July 19, 2023, in Aubrey, Texas at the home of her daughter and son-in-law at the age of 91 years.

Patricia “Pat” Williams was born in Joplin, Missouri on April 9, 1932. She married her lifelong love and best friend Harlie Claude Williams at the age of 17. She and Harlie moved to Texas, raised five children, and were happily married for 45 years before Harlie’s death on January 27, 1995.

After raising children and working alongside her husband in his photographic business, Patricia began working as a Home Health Supervisor where she recruited aids to assist the elderly with daily living tasks so that they could continue to live in their own homes, and she made home visits to the elderly to ensure that they were receiving proper care. Patricia continued her work with the elderly as the Senior Center Coordinator for the City of Burleson from 1998 until her retirement in 2013 at the age of 81.

Patricia was referred to by her children as “The Best Mom in the World” due to her endless patience, sweet nature, and unconditional love and support. While she did not actually have a favorite child, each of her children claimed to be her favorite because she made each of them feel as if they were her favorite child.
Patricia was a good and faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ. She first came to know God in her childhood Baptist Church and continued her adult Christian life as a member of Saint Ann Catholic Church in Burleson, Texas.

Pat is survived by her children: Son Fred Williams and his wife Nancy, Daughter Kathy Walkup; Son Ben Williams and his wife Yufeng, Daughter Marsha Schaefer, Daughter Patricia Adams and her husband Adam. Granddaughters Allison Walkup Wiggans, Laura Williams Cooper, Natalie Williams Draper, Danrui Williams, and Michaela Schaefer. Grandsons Clint Williams, Patrick Walkup, Seth Adams, Luke Adams, Johnny Schaefer, and Alex Schaefer. Great Grandchildren: Alyssa Wiggans, Baze Draper, Charlie Draper, Sam Draper, and Maverick Williams. Sister-in-law Judy Wilcoxson, eight nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, and dearest friend Denver Adams.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harlie Claude Williams, a World War II Veteran, her infant son Harlie Claude Williams, Jr., Father Jack Patrick Owen, Mother, Neva Shireman Owen, Brother Edward Owen, Sisters Evelyn Owen, Ruth Lawson, Barbara Leaf, Annie Owen, and Sally Norwood, and son-in-law Dennis Walkup.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home, 518 SW Johnson Avenue, Burleson, Texas. The ashes of Patricia and Harlie Williams will be interred at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie at a later date in a private family gathering.
