Patsy Ruth Mcduffie

March 10, 1938 — May 2, 2023

Patsy Ruth McDuffie, 85, of Hurst, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 2, 2023, after a short battle with Dementia and Pneumonia.

Patsy was born on March 10, 1938, to Doshia and Harve Nickell in Allen, Oklahoma. She considered Texas home and also felt strongly connected to her roots in Ada, Oklahoma near her many siblings, nieces, and nephews. She attended a sweet little school through eighth grade, prior to working in the peanut and cotton fields with her beloved family. She was a “jane” of many trades but found her greatest passion working as an in-home healthcare provider where she developed many great friendships along the way.
Not only did Patsy enjoy providing care for others, but she was also a comedian in her own right, as she didn’t have to work hard to get a laugh from most anyone. She loved practical jokes, teasing, singing you a song just as soon as you answered the phone. Patsy immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on many people. She was a joyful presence with her bubbly presence. She loved her friends and family and filled her home with warmth and kindness. She loved singing to music and dancing without a dance floor!
Patsy had an incredible love for Newell Leonard Oliver and chose to marry him when she was sixteen years old on September 11, 1954. Shortly after they began building their family with their sons, Ellis Britt, Barton Eugene and daughters, Kathy Annette, and Patti Lynette.
Patsy is survived by her daughters Kathy Oliver Jones and Patti Oliver Rodriguez, sons Bart Oliver and Britt Oliver; grandchildren, Candace Jones Garcia, Ryan Jones, Tyler Rogers, Matthew Swan, Jessica Sickle, Emily Oliver Deaso, and Zachary Oliver. She adored her many great grandchildren, Lydia and Everette Garcia, Oliver and Taos Jones, Bria and Austin Swan, Ryan Oliver, and Waylon O’Rear, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her favorite color was purple, and we would like her celebration of life to be full of vibrancy, color, and joyful music. We will miss her greatly.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a tribute donation to the Dementia Society of America. The organization focuses on supporting people living with dementia, no matter the cause.
