Paul Richard Morris

July 9, 1978 — August 13, 2021

Paul Richard Morris was 43 years old when he passed away into God’s hands on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Baylor, Scott & White in Grapevine, Texas. Paul battled polycythemia vera until his last breath. Ultimately, COVID took him from us. A private family viewing will be held at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home, 518 Southwest Johnson Avenue, Burleson, Texas 76028 on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. In order not to expose anyone to this terrible COVID variant, the family will not be greeting friends and family. There will be a private family graveside service on Thursday morning, August 19, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date with immediate family.
Paul was born on July 9, 1978 in Okinawa, Japan to Emily Jane (Cole) McFarland and Everett Lee Thomas. He grew up in Keller, Texas and graduated from Keller High School in 1996. After high school, he attended Blinn College on a basketball scholarship and then attended Tarrant County Junior College to be closer to home and family. He loved building things and houses and enjoyed working out every day.
Paul was a prankster and loved to play jokes on his mom and sister. He was loving, caring, and fiercely loyal to his family. He was a very private person. One of Paul’s greatest joys in life was raising his sweet little daughter, Payton. She was the light of his life for 10 years. He was never the same after she stole her daddy’s heart with her first glance at life!
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Theresa (Cisna) Cole, Paul and Agnes Thomas and Wendall and Kay McFarland and his adopted dad, Raymond Lee Morris.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Payton Morris of Frisco, Texas; mother, Emily Jane McFarland and husband, Charles; father, Everett Lee Thomas and wife, Joan; big sister Brandy Lynn Goodman and husband, Christopher; nieces and nephews, Madison, Keagan and Grayson Goodman; step-brothers, Brooks McFarland and wife, Susan, Jason McFarland and wife, Jo; step-sister, Mitizi French and husband, Jerry; step nieces and nephews, Justin French his wife, Kaylee, Colton French, Brady McFarland, Cara McFarland, Mayce McFarland, and Remington McFarland; and so many loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests plants to be sent for a family garden to honor Paul at the McFarland house. Please send them to Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home, 518 Southwest Johnson Avenue, Burleson, Texas 76028.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the family and friends that have reached out to us to offer comfort and prayers! We are eternally grateful for your love and support. Paul Richard - you will forever be in our hearts! God has a reason for everything under the sun and while we are heartbroken, we know you will forever rest in his hands now!
To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance. Ecclesiastes 3:1-4.
